ConnectCare3 Commercial

In January, I had the opportunity to do makeup on a commercial for ConnectCare3 (a nurse navigator service) directed by Lancaster-based filmmaker Mary Haverstick and produced by Michele Mercure. These actresses were lovely and I hope to be able to work with this production company again in the future!  Working with people who love what they do is what makes me want to keep pursuing a career in this industry.

"Waiting Room" - Just wait it out

This past fall, I got to try my hand at directing.  I have been writing screenplays since the age of 14, but this was my first chance to write and direct a short film on this scale.

My producers are Joshua Wacker and Lynn George, whom I have worked with on several other films.  They really are an amazing team, and I'm blown away by the talent and dedication in the entire cast and crew.

"Waiting Room" tells the story of a young man who loses the love of his life and tries to move on through the friendship of a girl who is even more of a mess than he is.

The trailer will be coming soon, so please check out the facebook page and the kickstarter page in the meantime!

Paper Turtle - Even the Invisible Need Friends. And Makeup.

One of my favorite projects that I ever had a privilege of working on was in the fall of 2009 while I was living in north Philadelphia. This is a film by Temple grad student and Messiah College alum Jonathan Stutzman. He's one of my favorite people to work with. I loved working with the children in this film. I got credit for makeup and hair styling, but I did a lot of child-wrangling as well!

The Mime's Song

Last May, I had a chance to co-produce and do makeup on a film involving a mime. I had a great time working on this project, since the people I worked with are basically my family. The script was written by Michael Helms. This was a project that was created from the collaboration of the Messiah Filmmakers Society.

Water/Fire

My typography project for Digital Production class. Final Cut Pro using traveling alpha mattes .

I restarted this project several times before I was happy with it... I think I'm always too critical on myself, but that's what makes us strive to be better. I ended up having a lot of fun with mattes. FCP is awesome.
