"Palace" - Undergrad Student Film, Supervising Makeup Artist

Last January, I was asked if I would be the makeup artist for a student film. I was very excited to work with them - but then I got a full-time job offer. However, I stayed with the film as a supervising makeup artist. I helped find a replacement and I trained her in naturalistic makeup artistry basics for high definition video. I was also able to work on the film when they shot crowd scenes. And I'm glad I did!

All of the extras for this film were period. There's a montage sequence that features large crowds from the 1940s and 1960s, so I was happy to help, since this required a lot of work and hands on deck! Luckily, I had heavily researched both periods with other film and theater projects (remember We Need To Talk?)

Below is the trailer. Palace was directed by a friend and former classmate of mine, Rolando Vega. He has since graduated and returned to work on another student film. One of my favorite thing about Messiah's film program is how graduates and friends stick together and help each other out, so I was glad I got to be a part of this project.
